DAMIEN CADIO

Cadio's works hark back to Expressionism and Surrealism's vision of the human being in fundamental conflict with himself and the world. „The business of choosing my images is so instinctive I'm almost in a trance. As if the eye were something extremely limited, and as if there necessarily existed certain images fitting exactly with a vision that's mine and at the same time fundamentally foreign to me. This is what makes painting a rite: a rite of acknowledgement of reality and the world.“ (Damien Cadio) He exhibited among other places at Almine Rech in Brussels and Eva Hober in Paris.
