About

The artist’s conceptual focus lies in the liminal space between photography and sculpture in contemporary art. With his sculptural-based photography, he covers the entire material and discursive spectrum of what can be considered photography today. In his assemblages, industrially made materials, flowers or objets trouvés are transformed in performative, sculptural experimental set-ups into hyperreal illusory worlds and sculptural still lifes. Only photography is able to capture these constellations and states.

Der konzeptuelle Fokus des Künstlers liegt im Grenzbereich zwischen Fotografie und Bildhauerei in der zeitgenössischen Kunst. Mit seiner skulptural-basierten Fotografie durchmisst er die gesamte materielle und diskursive Bandbreite dessen, was heute als Fotografie gelten kann. In seinen Assemblagen werden industriell gefertigte Materialien, Blumen oder objets trouvés in performativen, bildhauerischen Versuchsanordnungen zu hyperrealen Scheinwelten und skulpturalen Stillleben transformiert. Diese Konstellationen und Zustände können nur mittels der Fotografie festgehalten werden.
