Andreas Chwatal’s ink drawings evoke familiar references however on the other hand a sense of the Uncanny and of disorientation.
His works are larded with theatrical moments, which turn the realism of the drawings into a surrealistic experience. Chwatal’s work was honored with the Bayerischer Kunstförderpreis in 2017 and is held in important collections such as the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlung, Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich.
