About

The artist’s three discreet but related painting series have developed over years of persistent practice and meticulous research. 'The 'Colour and Metals' series is an extensive and ongoing group of multi panelled paintings that juxtapose colour with the metal from whose oxide it is derived. There are a significant number of artist's colours that are derived from the oxides of metals. Lalić works with lead, iron, zinc, copper, aluminium, chrome and tin.
With a series of 17 works, the TATE, London has dedicated an entire room in the permanent collection to Maria Lalić.

Die drei diskreten, aber verwandten Malserien des Künstlers haben sich über Jahre durch hartnäckige Praxis und akribischer Recherche entwickelt. "Die Serie 'Colour and Metals' ist eine umfangreiche und fortlaufende Gruppe von multigetäfelten Gemälden, die Farbe dem Metall gegenüberstellen, aus dessen Oxid es abgeleitet ist. Es gibt eine beträchtliche Anzahl von Künstlerfarben, die aus den Oxiden von Metallen abgeleitet werden. Lalić arbeitet mit Blei, Eisen, Zink, Kupfer, Aluminium, Chrom und Zinn.
Die TATE, London hat Maria Lalić mit einer Serie von 17 Arbeiten einen eigenen Raum in der Dauerausstellung gewidmet.
