Urbanity – Memories – Nature
TIM BENNETT | DAMIEN CADIO | DANIEL GRÜTTNER | ROLAND FISCHER | JEREMY THOMAS
The French anthropologist Marc Augé defined two different notions of space: the anthropological place and the non-place. The (anthropological) place offers people a space that empowers their identity, where they can meet other people with whom they share social references. The non-places, on the contrary, are not meeting spaces and do not build common references to a group. The exhibition at LIAIGRE refers to the urban or natural „place“ and to the possibility of a place to embody memory.
The curatorial concept will be presented with art works of different media, photography by Munich based artist Roland Fischer, mixed media paintings by Tim Bennett, abstract paintings and ceramic objects by Berlin based artist Daniel Grüttner as well as sculptures by American artist Jeremy Thomas and drawings by French artist Damien Cadio.
Exclusively curated for LIAIGRE Showroom, Briennerstrasse 12, 80333 Munich
